문장조합 - 형용사절

형용사절이란 ?

명사는 문장에서 주어, 목적어, 전치사의 목적어로 사용됩니다. 형용사는 문장에서 명사를 수식하는데 사용됩니다. 형용사절은 형용사의 역할을 대신하여 명사의 위치와 상관없이 문장 내에 있는 명사들을 수식하는데 사용합니다.

사람을 수식할 때에는 who , 사물을 수식할 때에는 which 를 사용한다.

that 은 사람, 사물에서 모두 사용할 수 있습니다. (사람=who, 사물=that 을 더 선호합니다.)

형용사절의 주어로 who, which 가 사용

사람	I thanked the woman.  She helped me                        who                        who helped me
	I thanked the woman	who helped me
		that helped me
사물	The book is mine     It is on the table                        which                        which is on the table.
	The book	which is on the table	is mine
		that is on the table

 

주어		동사
The woman	who lives next door	is	a doctor
Anyone	who wants to apply for the job	must do	so		by Friday
An architect		is	someone.	who designs buildings
I		don't like	stories	that have unhappy endings
